Tall Cool One

Digging thru my collection of CDs last night and I find Now and Zen by Robert Plant.
WAAAAAY cool album. Great mix of all kinds of stuff.

While my favorite track was "Heaven Knows" I remembered how popular "Tall Cool One" was. Not only was it catchy and Pop-py, it sampled some old Jimmy Page licks from the work he did with Plant in Led Zepplin.

If so far none of this makes any sense to you, then you were obviously born AFTER 1980...in which case I feel a little old; but hey, it's your loss. That was some awesome music.

But now back to Soda:

One OTHER reason why "Tall Cool One" gained noteriety is because Plant allowed the song be used in a Pepsi commerical. Hell he APPEARED in the commercial. For you young-uns, it's considered taboo to 'sell out' and have your music appear in commercials. For we capitalists, it's considered good business and we applaud you!

Quite frankly, Pepsi made a good choice. Not only is the tune catchy, but I always think of a Pepsi as a Tall Cool one, don't you? (Or maybe the better way to phrase it is: The visual of a Tall Cool Pepsi is refreshing and delicious!)

What other kinds of Tall Cool Ones are out there, and are they equally refrehsing?

Zoe Dean has a best seller called Tall Cool One. You can see it on Amazon if you click here.
I don't know if it's considered 'refreshing'...I'll have to read it.

Would Dennis Rodman have been considered a Tall Cool one? What about Shaquille O'Neil?

The Coke vs. Pepsi lens wants your vote as the Keeper of the Tall Cool Ones. You oughta check it out.

My personal, favorite Tall Cool One?

4 Cokes, 3 Guys, 1 Reunion

On Saturday Night, I got together with 2 friends from HighSchool. Very close friends, one of whom I had not seen in 20 years.

We met a Bennigan's on Midland Ave. Rudy and I used to hang there once in a while, but again, it was 20 years ago.

It was important that I did not get inebriated because I didn't want to forget a single thing anyone said or did. As a result, I drank what we call a 'Boomer': Coke, No Ice, Lemon. (And if you've read this blog before you've probably read that a time or two!)

We talked about a ton of stuff, for over 7 hours. Here's a quick run down:

JC has a MySpace page dedicated to Heavy Metal (He's a big Alice Cooper fan, and he and I played in a band together on and off for several years.

Rudy is a big Celtics fan.

We spent a LOT of time talking about Star Wars. So much so, that I Started looked around to see if anyone was pointing at us and giggling. BTW - none of us are sterotypical Star Wars nerds. We just like good stories.

Of course, we talked about all the hot girls from High School...especially the Big Chested ones. (WHOA! Don't click THAT link! I was being 'clever' and it isn't safe for children!)

We talked about Marriage as well as dating I'm married; they are dating.

We talked about websites where you can meet single people . (I had a bad experience once with this. JC didn't. He met his soul mate).

I drank 4 HYOOGE Cokes that night (or were they Pepsis?!) and wound up having to pee all night. Not cool when you are enjoying a 20 year reunion. Of course, since we hung out for 7 hours, that's only once every 90 minutes. For some reaons I did NOT remember to brag about this blog...or the Coke vs. Pepsi lens. I'm not a very good self-promotion-ist.

Our waitress was terribly cute. She is going to the same college I went to. Only I'm 20 years older than her.

JC mentioned that he had attended a yoga class with a cooky ex-girlfreind. I did yoga for a while, but didn't mention it. I DID do the Yoga-for-Men stuff, not pilatges or anything...

Whenever I got a chance, I talked about Pro Wrestling. That wasn't incredibly often. Of course, I didn't brag about my Pro Wrestling Lens OR the Ric Flair Shrine I built. I suck.

The most important thing was that for 7 hours the conversation never lulled. We never looked at our watches and wonder how to break the party up. We actually went outside and talked for another half hour. Goodbye Sucks, too.

The plan, of course, if not to have to wait 20 years to do this again.
We hope to do it again, soon.
We hope to have Sushi instead of Bennigan's.

I hope to have 4 more Pepsi's...or were they Coca Colas?

Spanish Coca Cola for Mi Amigos!!!

Today, a very nice guy told me how much he liked this blog. He then asked me to look at HIS blog.

Well, how could I not? After all he looked at mine.
It seems that he reviews Digital Cameras. Sounds nice enough.
One small problem (for me)...his blog is written in Spanish.

Still, why not promote it? After all, he had nice things to say about my blog!
If you like Cameras, and you like to read Spanish, click here.

So, today we will celebrate the Spansish speeaking world of Coca Cola.

Today on NPR I read that Mexico slaps a monster-sized fine on Coca-Cola. NO MUY BIEN!

Like Spanish Speaking Babies? How about this You Tube video about a baby's First Time drinking Coca Cola?
PEQENO BABY!!

Ok, maybe babies aren't your thing? How about just different aged couples enjoying a cold coca cola...in Spanish.

See? Even if you do not Habla Espanol, you will see that there is a whole world of Spanish SPeaking COca Cola lovers out there!

Buena Noche....

Ric Flair, Four Horsemen and Pepsi Points

I really believed I cornered the market on finding things that combine Pro Wrestling and Soda. I mean, between the Dusty Rhodes Mello Yello Video and the CM Punk loves Pepsi posts, I HAD to have covered all of the majors!

But alas...there is more treasure to unearth!

The Four Horsemen DVD (Featuring Ric Flair! WHOOOOOO!) is available on Amazon. Well, so is everything on Earth, really. But if you look at this etnry I found...right smack in the middle of the page...are the very words "This product available with Pepsi Points!"

PEPSI POINTS TO BUY A FOUR HORSEMEN DVD?!??!
I gotta keep drinking!

I imagine I'll have to drink a LOT! No one gets much for their Pepsi Points unless they've drank...and burped...a whole lot!

But if I can indulge in one of my favorite beverages...and THEN use the soda caps to watch Ric Flair (WHOOOOOO!) in his greatest moments!....then how can I (BURP!) refuse?!??!
